taketwo were prepared to be scared as we entered the London Bridge Experience and then the London Tombs. The London Bridge Experience and the London Tombs has been voted the UK's 'best year round scare attraction.'
First the adventure begins in the London Bridge Experience, where visitors are guided through into olden London, seeing the Romans and the Vikings. Next visitors are taking through the fire of London and shown how London Bridge was (should that be there) used to punish criminals and so much more. On board the Viking vessel, visitors are completely immersed in the atmosphere of what it was like to be a Viking warrior. Character actors lead visitors through each part of the tour and bring the history to life.
There are recreations within the experience of the past wooden, stone and medieval bridges. The live characters provide fascinating information about London's gruesome history whilst keeping it fun and enjoyable. There are many surprises that occur on the journey, both entertaining and educational at heart. It's a thrilling experience that takes the visitor on a journey back in time and thanks to the latest in Hollywood-style wizardry and the live action actors, it makes for a fun day out.
The tour then descents into the London Tombs, which in 2008 won the best scare attraction for the Screamie Awards organised by Haunted Attractions. The London Tombs was formerly a Plague pit and is not for the faint of heart. The experience is designed to bring your very nightmares to life, in a fully interactive way. From mutilated corpses to madmen in hockey masks with chainsaws, visitors experience a heart-racing showcase of horrors. The great aspect of the London Tombs is that for those that find it too frightening, there are members of staff on hand to assist visitors if they want to leave. They also have specially designed tours for younger visitors called the 'Guardian Angel Tour', where children are guided through the tombs by a Guardian Angel, who protects them from the scary sites.
Both the London Bridge Experience and the London Tombs offers a great day out in London and has something for everyone, whether you enjoy learning about history or if you just want a fun day out. To enter both the London Bridge Experience and the London Tombs, it costs £23.00 for an adult and £16.95 for a child, however you only pay for one when you taketwo with the taketwo 2 for 1 London voucher and guidebook. There are several other awesome things to do in London including Ripley's Believe it Or Not, The 99 Club, an Open Top Bus Tour and many more in our book.
