The Lamb is a quaint little pub that was named after the famous philanthropist William Lamb; who in 1577 carried out charity work to improve upon an existing waterway so that clean water could be brought down from Holborn to benefit the neighbourhood. The pub was built in the early 18th Century and despite enduring all sorts, has been preserved beautifully and remains an excellent, traditional Victorian building. The building is a Grade II listed Victorian pub and contains remnants from when it was first established, including etched glass snob screens which are in place above the bar. These screens were popular in the 1890s to hide the customer from the publican when ordering drinks, but the hinges still allowed the bar staff to check on the customers without disturbing their privacy.

Additionally, the pubs history is commemorated by an original working polyphon (the predecessor to the gramaphone) which is on display in the pub, plus some sepia prints of music hall players. The Lamb has no televisions or music playing but instead the atmosphere is permeated with lively conversation.
