The Chancery is a small, intimate restaurant which lets the food do the talking. It is based just off Chancery Lane in a quiet back street between Fleet Street and High Holborn. It was opened in 2004 by Andrew Thompson and Zak Jones who, previous to this, had been working with Marco Pierre White for five years. Intimate in size, the restaurant has two adjoining dining rooms and an exclusive lounge bar downstairs that's perfect for pre or post dinner cocktails and private parties. Due to the restaurants huge success, they now provide private catering at a venue of your choice; simply ask the staff for more details. The Chancery is just one of the over 80 attractions that are on offer in the taketwo 2 for 1 London voucher and guidebook.
The menu changes seasonally, and the chefs always deliver food that is delicate, innovative and packed with evocative flavours. At the start of the meal, customers are offered an amuse bouche to tickle the taste buds before any food is ordered. An amuse bouche is simply a starting snack that 'amuses the mouth' and is served at the beginning of a meal to tempt your palate. At the moment, popular starters at the restaurant include the grilled scallops and the trio of foie gras.
The main courses consist of a variety of dishes such as the fillet of red snapper with celery puree and lentils, seared salmon, crab and scallop lasagna and roast rump of lamb, to name but a few. The Chancery coupon that is available with the taketwo book enables you to buy 2 main meals for the price of one. There are also plenty of tempting deserts to end off an evening, for instance there is the Assiette of chocolate and Sphere of white chocolate for the chocoholics among us or you can finish off your dinner with a selection of French and English cheeses.
The Chancery prides itself on providing excellent service, with customers not wanting for anything. The restaurant has a personal and relaxed ambience and because of its location, affords privacy, which is something that is hard to find in the more central restaurants in London. It has a Manhattan-esque appeal because of its slick and sophisticated interior, attracting a chic city-centric crowd.
When dining at The Chancery, make sure you have your taketwo 2 for 1 London voucher and guidebook so that when you buy one main meal you can get another one free. Taketwo have loads of London discounts which will save you money all across the City. Furthermore, take a look at some testimonials from people who have already had big savings with the taketwo book.
