Shaka Zulu is a huge underground South African restaurant which describes itself as being a "theatre of food and drink"- a bold claim which the staff strive to uphold by immersing customers in the drama, creativity and passion involved in delivering each dish from the kitchen to the table. This makes Shaka Zulu much more of a unique and memorable experience, rather than just another restaurant. Located in Camden Town's Stable Markets, the restaurant spreads itself over two floors. There are two separate dining areas- the Cape Town inspired Seafood and Oyster Bar and an authentic South African Braai restaurant; both offer a unique and cultural setting for dinner and drinks.

Shaka Zulu first opened its doors in August 2010. The whole style of the venue is based on the South African Zulu nation and leading the style tribute are the restaurant walls. They are decorated with handmade mosaics, tribal masks and intricately detailed hand carved traditional scenes from the Zulu nation. But perhaps what proved to be the most costly embellishment was the 'Warrior Wall' where King Shaka stands amongst a group of warriors sculpted into a jaw dropping 60ft high statue.

Whether you choose to dine in the Seafood and Oyster Bar or the Braai restaurant, you will be privy to a menu that Executive Chef Barry Vera has personally created which he hopes will offer a broad spectrum of foods for all tastes. Taketwo books have a London discount that allows you to enjoy two main meals at Shaka Zulu for the price of one, saving you money on your visit. Find out more about the taketwo book and how it works to learn more about savings you could make all across London.

The cuisine in the Seafood & Oyster Bar has all the usual European and Mediterranean favourites as well as world renowned dishes brought directly from Cape Town. In the South African Braai restaurant, a very traditional South African grill-style cooking method is used, and delicacies such as Red Poll Beef and Dorper Lamb (from Her Majesty the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk) are on the menu. For the more audacious diner who is looking for a true culinary experience of South Africa, game meats such as Kudu, Ostrich and Springbok from Namibia are on offer plus some amazing authentic dishes like Bredie, Bobotie, Sosaties ,to name but a few. Shaka Zulu also provide entertainment that lasts late on into the night, with music played up until 2am.

Shaka Zulu is making a name for itself as one of London's trendiest venues and is a dining experience that needs to be, well, experienced. Taketwo have a London 2 for 1 offer for this restaurant which will help save you money on your food bill. When you buy one main meal, you get another one free if you show the taketwo Shaka Zulu voucher.
